Job Summary
We are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, tech-savvy, and proactive PR Intern to join our growing event planning team. This person will support our lead planners in all aspects of post-wedding PR efforts—from assisting with social media strategy to submitting events for publication. The ideal candidate excels in social media strategy, communication, consistent follow-up, and is well-versed in media.
Position Details
- Job Type: Paid Summer Internship (20 hours/week, Monday–Friday, 4 hours/day)
- Hourly Salary: $20-22/hour based on prior experience
- Additional Compensation: Paid separately for day-of event content coverage (as assigned)
Responsibilities
- Assist lead planners with post-wedding PR efforts, including media outreach and publication submissions
- Support social media strategy through research, content planning ideas, and performance analysis
- Research and identify appropriate media outlets for press distribution
- Draft and format press releases and publication materials in alignment with brand tone and voice
- Track and analyze social media metrics to help assess strategy effectiveness
- Monitor press coverage and maintain organized records of published features
- Help maintain and grow relationships with editors, blogs, and media platforms
- Join the team on day-of events as assigned to capture behind-the-scenes content and assist with editing footage into short-form videos
- Stay informed on industry trends, wedding publications, and relevant media opportunities
Qualifications
- Familiarity with creating and formatting content for publication
- Understanding of how to build and maintain relationships with media outlets
- Strong knowledge of what makes an effective press release
- Ability to identify and target appropriate media outlets for press distribution
- Confident in reading, analyzing, and applying social media metrics to guide strategy
- Skilled in measuring the success and impact of both social media and publication strategies
- Video editing experience with any software is strongly preferred, but not required
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple deadlines
- Enthusiastic about weddings, events, and storytelling through media
