Job Summary
We are seeking personable, proactive, and reliable Day-Of Coordination Assistants to join our event team and help execute weddings and events with excellence. This role is focused solely on event-day support—perfect for individuals who enjoy hands-on, fast-paced work. The ideal candidate is a quick thinker, collaborative team player, and calm problem-solver who thrives on their feet and is excited to contribute to a memorable and well-run event day.
Position Details
- Job Type: Freelance / Part-Time, Event-Based
- Hours: As needed per event (mostly weekends; hours vary per event)
- Compensation: $20/hour during training, increasing to $25/hour after completion of training
- Location: Primarily Bay Area, CA with some events in Southern California and worldwide
Responsibilities
- Assist with venue setup, guest logistics, and event coordination as directed by the lead planner
- Execute assigned tasks efficiently and communicate with the lead planner for next steps
- Help manage the event timeline and troubleshoot issues in real time
- Support vendors with load-in/load-out and provide general assistance as needed
- Maintain a positive, professional presence in client-facing and guest-facing situations
- Contribute to the overall smooth execution of each event, from arrival to teardown
Qualifications
- Clear communicator with a friendly and professional demeanor
- Comfortable interacting with clients, guests, vendors, and teammates
- Able to follow instructions and adapt in a fast-paced environment
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to stay calm under pressure
- Reliable, punctual, and detail-oriented
- Able to stand for long periods and work on your feet
- Car or reliable transportation required
- Able to lift and carry up to 25 lbs as needed during event setup and breakdown
- Prior event experience not required—ideal backgrounds include:
- Hospitality, restaurant, or catering roles
- Retail, customer service, or front desk positions
- Campus tour guides, theater crew, or similar fast-paced team environments
